Specialty Programs

Courage, a unique word; it is exactly what you have by seeking treatment. The Phoenix/C-Team Programs work with young men/women (with impulse control problems) and their families after sexually inappropriate behaviors have occurred or have been alleged.

Phoenix Program (Sexually Inappropriate Behaviors-male)

The Phoenix Program offers an intensive residential treatment program for adolescent males with inappropriate sexual behaviors. The Phoenix Program is a 14 bed, single occupancy unit that addresses the behavior and the thought patterns of adolescents with a history of sexually inappropriate or sexually reactive behaviors. Emphasis is placed on processing the individual’s own history of sexually inappropriate behaviors, improving anger management skills, and learning/utilizing age appropriate coping skills. The Phoenix Program operates on a Relapse Prevention Model. The program is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.

The targeted population is an adolescent male (ages12-17) who has been sexually abused or raised in a highly sexualized environment. The potential client is just beginning to engage in sexually inappropriate behaviors directed towards self or others and is at risk of developing more serious sexually inappropriate behaviors. The Phoenix Program is chaired by Hill Crest’s Medical Director and supported by Licensed/Juvenile Sexual Certified Counselors.
